What ages can join Worldschool Mexico?
Our programs are designed for children ages 5 to 14, with some exceptions made.
Students are grouped developmentally so everyone feels engaged, capable, and inspired.
What is included in the program packages?
- All core classes (Art, Gardening, Spanish, Music)

Are there optional activities outside of core classes?

What are the core classes?
- Art — including ceramics, mural arts, paper-making, triptychs, mixed media, and culturally inspired projects led by a professional artist and designer.
- Gardening — seed-to-soil learning, eco-literacy, and hands-on care of living systems.
- Spanish — a play-based, dynamic immersion approach adaptable for multi-level learners, yet primarily for beginners
What days are classes held?
Core classes run on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with lunch included.
Fridays offer optional kids’ cooking, family cooking, and sometimes we host extra workshops or activities.
EcoLab Kids, which is our specialty ecological construction course for children from 7 to 14 years old, is on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
Can my child choose individual classes?
Yes—but we encourage families to begin with a one-week package first. It gives your child time to settle into the rhythm, meet friends, and discover which classes they love most.
What is the Spanish class like?
It’s a play-based immersion experience blending games, art, movement, kitchen vocabulary, hands-on activities, and storyline-based learning.
How big is the community?
Worldschool Mexico blends long-term homeschoolers, and temporary world schoolers together, which provides a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
This hybrid setup creates a warm, multicultural community where children naturally make friends across backgrounds.

Is there lunch included?
Yes. Lunch is included on core class days (Wed–Fri). Our restaurant on the property prepares fresh meals that children love.

Excursions very dependent on season and class themes along with ages of the students. Be in touch for more detailed information.
Do you offer cooking classes?
Classes are led by a seasoned chef with many years of experience. Children explore:

Program Structure & Enrollment
What are the program dates and how flexible is enrollment?
The program in San Miguel de Allende runs September-November, January-April with summer camo from mid June to mid July. Enrollment is flexible – families can join for one week, one month, or full block based on their needs.
Can families enroll for just one week, one month, or do they need to commit to a full trimester?
No long-term commitment required. Families can participate for as little as one week or stay for the full trimester depending on their travel plans.
What's the cost structure?
Core program costs 3500 Mexican pesos per week and 7000 Mexican pesos per month per child. 12 weeks packages are available as well. Please see our store for more info on what’s included.
How many families typically participate in each session?
Group sizes vary, with opportunities for both intimate small groups and larger community gatherings depending on enrollment.
Classes & Activities
Are classes taught in English or Spanish?
Classes are taught by bilingual staff, providing natural opportunities to learn Spanish while ensuring comprehension in English. Spanish class is all in Spanish!
Can a 4-year-old participate in all activities, and do parents need to stay?
4-year-olds can participate in most activities. Parent presence is recommended initially for younger children to ensure comfort and engagement.
What is the Ecolab Kids class and when do children need to commit to it?
Ecolab involves ecological construction projects. Children can enroll when they’re ready to commit to hands-on building and environmental learning. Commitment from the beginning is required as safety is taught first.
Are there activities for children as young as 2 years old?
Yes, age-appropriate activities are available for children as young as 2, with supervision and parent involvement as needed.
What's included in the cooking classes and how hands-on are they?
Cooking classes are fully hands-on, teaching traditional Mexican cuisine. Some include market visits.
Language Learning
How much Spanish will children actually learn during the program?
Spanish learning varies by child and length of stay. Immersion environment provides natural acquisition opportunities.
Do you have bilingual teaching staff?
Yes, all staff are bilingual.
Are there opportunities for true Spanish immersion?

What housing options are available - gated communities vs. individual rentals?
Both options available. Gated communities offer security and amenities, while individual rentals provide more local integration. Group accomodation is organized based on request.
What's the typical cost range for family accommodations?
Accommodations start ar $850 USD per month for a studio. Cost is dependent on size, location, season and amenities chosen.
Is San Miguel de Allende walkable, or do families need to rent a car?
San Miguel is highly walkable with pedestrian infrastructure and great public transit.
How close are accommodations to the program location?
Recommended accommodations are within a10 minute walking distance or short transport to program activities, ensuring easy daily access.

Which airports are closest and what transportation options exist?
Queretaro airport is closest with shuttle services available. Leon airport is another option with ground transportation.
Is there shuttle service from airports to San Miguel?
Yes, shuttle services operate from both Queretaro and Leon airports directly to San Miguel accommodations.

Two-week Oaxaca excursion includes ancient sites, culinary experiences, and cultural festivals. Runs during specific periods (late July for Guelaguetza festival).

Excursions are open to program families with some size limitations to maintain quality experience and group cohesion.
What's the cost difference between core programs and excursions?
Excursions involve additional costs beyond core program fees, covering transportation, accommodation, and specialized activities.
